My Nibbler for extra hard tiles and mosaic.

Dear tilers, this is my Nibbler to cut porcelain, hard tiles and mosaic.
It’s fantastic!....Ergonomic, Resistant, Precise… these are only some advantages of this tool. I use this nibbler above all for cut vitreous mosaic and for the fine finishing of cuts.
A technical advantage: The particular angle of the head means that the tool can be used for shearing the edges of tiles.

Tile cutter to make curve cuts in tiles!

Tile cutter to make curve cut! This tile cutter exist! I found it in Bologna fair. The name of this spacial hand tool is Combi Slalom. I asked to Montolit team to explain me more about this tile cutter to make curve cut and they showed me some test with all type of tiles. It was incredible because with only one tile cutter machine I can create special works with special complex drawing: this tile cutter is very easy to use and when necessary, you can use it only to cut in a normal way. I found more information on Montolit Website:
Main proposal:Covered by international patent, this special tile cutter is the only one of its kind, and is capable of making curved cuts on the majority of tiles on the market. Thanks to the mobile slider, incisions can be made in tiles according to the desired trajectory. As well as solving the problem of cutting tiles in the vicinity of round columns, curved walls and circular shower trays, this tile cutter opens up an infinite range of possibilities for tilers to create imaginative and artistic work.
Utilization:The handle of this special tile cutter is easily guided by the operator, thus ensuring execution of the incision as desired. For special decorations or repetitive cuts, the combi slalom tile cutter can be equipped with a variable template (optional art.SR000B). Fluidity and precision are ensured by special slide bushes and ground steel rails. Tiles are split with the aid of the special screw-type cut-off device mounted on the machine; to facilitate operations, we recommend the use of the specific separate cut-off device (Art. 57). The machine is also capable of making straight and diagonal cuts, by fixing the slider with the respective locking screw.
Peculiarity:Incision wheel with oversized diameter (Ø 20 mm) in hard metal and special titanium coating to ensure better fluidity and long life, even when used on increasingly hard, new materials (porcelain tile, klinker, etc.). Millimetric square in nickel-plated metal, for linear and inclined cuts. Tile support table in phenol-glued plywood. Non-slip feet.

Tile cutters, why do I prefer it since 1980? PART. 3 Technical reasons.

I would like to propose you a challange. If you try to cut a big tile, like 90x 90cm you will observe that using a Montolit tile cutter you will able to cut this tile in a faster, safety and accurate way. This is possible because these type of professional hand tile cutters are studied for this hard work! The aluminium base is accurately jointed to the steel bar and this special mix create a strong "structural ring" that grant stability and balance to the full machine. This characteristic isn't so common on the others tile cutters that usually are composed by many and many small parts that during the time life loose their mechanical connection and their stability. Anyway, Montolit tile cutters are for me the best tile cutters to cut big tile and the best tile cutters to cut mosaic with tha special Mosakit.

Tile cutters, why do I prefer it since 1980? PART. 2 Technical reasons.

Tile cutters Montolit are very different from the others tile cutters that I met during my job life.
I would like to demonstrate you that it’s not only my personal opinion. For example, if you look to the structure, the Montolit tile cutter is
die-casting aluminium and nickel-plated steel. It grants the maximum resistance and weather-resistance. The titanium wheel is standard!
This tile cutter has a very good goniometrical square, simple to use and very innovative respect to the others product on the market.
Anyway, the best characteristic for me is the push system. I tried to cut different type of tiles with different tile cutters but, specially with big tiles, like 60 x 60 and more, the benefit of push system is incredible. Perfect cut and no problem on your hand after many hours of use!
There are many tile cutters on the market but if you are deciding between push and pull version, I strongly suggest you push version. I know that there is some special research from Norwegian institute that shows the problem caused by pull systems to cut tiles. If I will find it, I will show you asap!
From my point of view, It is important to choose the right tile cutter or in general tiling tools thinking on its effect on your body too.
Goodbye my dear tilers!
